President, First Lady Among World Leaders at Coronation

Prior to the coronation, the President and the First Lady were invited to the reception in advance of the Coronation of their majesties the King and the Queen Consort held at the Buckingham Palace in London on Friday night.

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and the First Lady, Filomena Dikumete, were among world leaders and monarchies who attended the coronation of King Charles III at the Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday.

Prior to the coronation, the President and the First Lady were invited to the reception in advance of the Coronation of their majesties the King and the Queen Consort held at the Buckingham Palace in London on Friday night.

The coronation is both a symbolic religious ceremony during which a sovereign is crowned and the physical act of placing a crown on a monarch’s head.

It formalises the monarch’s role as the head of the Church of England and marks the transfer of their title and powers.

At Westminister Abbey, monarchs’, invited heads of States from Commonwealth countries and other parts of the world and their spouses were present to witness the occasion.
