President Urges Chiefs To Talk About Drugs
Ratu Wiliame said chiefs had an impactful influence and it’s about time they use their influence.

The recent drug find across the country is reason enough for chiefs to seek ways they
can mitigate and help relevant authorities in the war against illicit substances Tui Macuata and President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere shared this with chiefs from his province who attended the Yellow Ribbon Symposium in Labasa on Friday.
Ratu Wiliame highlighted that the dynamics of drug discoveries had changed and police have conducted successful raids nearly every week.

This should be a wake-up call for everyone as these must be addressed immediately at all levels of society.
“For chiefs, I challenge you, talk to our youths, talk to the young ones on what is the latest findings of drugs in the streets, this way we get to learn what is happening around us,” Ratu Wiliame said.

Tui Nadogo Ratu Ilisaniti Malodali acknowledged that chiefs played an influential role when it comes to drug issues.
Ratu Ilisaniti concurs with the call made by Ratu Wiliame.
The symposium created a way for chiefs to better understanding when it comes to acceptance of convict person(s) upon their release.
