Princess Dedicates Award To Her Late Father

The Baulevu High School Year 13 dux was emotional yesterday as she wished her late father was around to see her earn her award.
Eighteen-year-old Princess Reshita Rehana Prasad scored 368/400 in her Year 13 Examination.
After her father died four years ago, Princess said it was difficult for her mother to raise her alone.

“I wish my dad was here to witness my achievements, but I know he would have been proud of me if he was alive,” she said.
“My family has been my main source of inspiration, especially my mum. When dad passed away, mum has always been there for us and for that I am so grateful.
“My family had a lot of expectations, and I am so happy that I was able to fulfil them. I am looking forward to a better future.”
Princess said that she felt confident in her ability to win the dux prize, but she was still nervous and emotional when her name was called out.
“The pandemic taught us a lot of things like perseverance and dedication. We learned how to learn without the teacher’s supervision, and I want to thank the teachers for their continuous support and always ready to help us,” she said.
Her mother, Premila Prasad said she was happy for her daughter’s achievement. Princess will be pursuing Bachelor of Commerce in Professional Accounting at the University of the South Pacific as a Topper’s student.
