Prioritise Clean Up: Seruiratu To Team

The Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu made sure of this when he inspected several areas and major infrastructures affected by the recent floods in Ba on Tuesday.
Mr Seruiratu reminded the Government personnel manning the Emergency Operations Centre and the Ba Town Council to prioritise the cleaning of major towns to ensure a swift resumption of economic activities in these centres.

He visited the Balevuto Irish Crossing in Nalotawa, Ba, which was often prone to flooding during events of heavy rainfall.
During his visit, Mr Seruiratu also made a stopover at a small farming community in the district of Nalotawa to meet with farmer, Rakesh Kumar, and his family.
Mr Kumar’s farm was devastated by the floods.
Mr Seruiratu also made a visit to the Ba Market where he met with personnel from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and the National Fire Authority (NFA) who were conducting a clean-up at Ba Town.
The minister also visited evacuation centres in Tailevu to distribute food rations yesterday.
