A Board of Inquiry has been established to investigate a security breach at the Fiji Corrections Centre in Suva earlier this month.
This comes after an Australian TV programme “A Current Affair” showed a video featuring a defiant Australian heroin smuggler who is jailed in the Fijian prison.

According to Nine News, Australian Ethan Kai was found guilty of importing the drugs in 2014, which were concealed in quad bike tyres in a container.
Kai, who was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, was in the programme and was speaking from within the premises of the prison.
Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Commander Francis Kean confirmed that the video was recorded without Fiji Corrections Service knowledge or approval.
Mr Kean said a Board of Inquiry has been established to investigate this serious security breach.
“We will await the findings and recommendations of this BOI before we can respond to any of further questions,” Mr Kean said.
