Proceeds of Melbourne Cup go to ‘Run To Give’

The proceeds raised from the annual Melbourne Cup at the Heineken House in Denarau yesterday will go towards the ‘Run to Give’ initiative.
Multi-Property Vice President Fiji and Samoa Marriott International and General Manager Westin and Sheraton Resorts Fiji Complex Neeraj Chadha said for the last six years the property has been putting an event together to create some environment of fun, some celebration and then of course engage the community along that journey.
“In this particular event, we will be raising funds for charity, Markets for Change, a UNICEF program where recently all of Australia and New Zealand hotels participated along with the Fiji hotels. The program called ‘Run to Give’ where raised over about $30, 000 and today is just one more initiative to continue to raise.”

He added that some amazing women entrepreneurs are trying to build their small businesses and these funds go a long way in establishing them in their business and the community.
During the event which stops the nation of Australia, over a hundred people were part of it, including tourists, Nadi Hash Harriers, etc.

PNG-based Eva Mcgoon said it was an event to kill time and at the same time to enjoy charity, good food, and drinks.
The event was supported by Heineken, Lanson, and DGRC.
