Prominent Ba Businessman, Daniel Elisha Laid To Rest
Prominent and respected Ba businessman, Daniel Elisha was laid to rest yesterday in a moving funeral service attended by the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Government ministers and a large number of business and ordinary people.

Prominent and respected Ba businessman, Daniel Elisha was laid to rest yesterday in a moving funeral service attended by the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Government ministers and a large number of business and ordinary people.
Eulogies delivered during the Mass of the Resurrection at Christ the King Catholic Parish in Ba, described Mr Elisha as a person who strived from scratch to attain the business empire he had before he died.
Minister for Youth and Sport, Parveen Bala, who is also from Ba, described Mr Elisha as a person who gave his time, labour and talent and took back very little in return for himself.

“Dan was a well-known figure not only in Ba, but across Fiji. He was not only well known but was well liked and highly respected member of the wider community,” Mr Bala said in his eulogy.
About Mr Elisha
Mr Elisha was nurtured by former Ba businessmen while starting up Elisha Engineering Company, a steel company that is now well known for major works around the country.
He was Mayor of Ba in 1993, at a time his late mother-in-law was a councillor.
Mr Bala said Mr Elisha, in his 75th anniversary celebration message said – “to serve a great town like Ba and its wonderful people is what I wanted to do and I hope I did it well.”
