Forty-Five new Basic Diplomacy Training Programme (BDTP) trainees were welcomed by the United Nations Association of Fiji (UNA Fiji) and members of the Diplomatic Corps on Saturday.

Welcoming the new trainees, Deputy Prime Minister, Viliame Gavoka said diplomacy was an art and diplomats were the artists.

“To be diplomatic simply means listening, understanding and acting with tact,” Mr Gavoka said.

He said in Government, diplomacy is absolutely critical, perhaps one of the most quintessential skills you could have.
