The proposed One United Republican (OUR) political party has launched its signature collection campaign in the Northern Division this month, as it works towards formal registration by the end of 2025.

Led by co-founders Justin Lawrence Whippy and Nayagodamu Korovou, the party has already built momentum in other regions — gathering more than 2,000 signatures in the Central Division and over 250 names from the Eastern Division.

The campaign will soon move to the Western Division in the coming weeks.

Mr Whippy and Mr Korovou have thanked citizens who have signed in support of what they describe as a new movement for equality and change.

“This is a call for a better Fiji for those who live here, for Fijians abroad and for every visitor who walks our shores,” Mr Whippy said.

He said that while not yet formally registered, the proposed party is working to meet Fijian Elections Office requirements, which include collecting at least 5,000 verified signatures with representation from all four divisions of the country.

According to Mr Whippy, the public’s response so far reflects a growing demand for political change.

“People want a government that delivers, that listens and that puts people first,” he said. “OUR Party is about putting people at the center of national development, regardless of their background, location, or status.”

While the party’s full manifesto is yet to be released, its core focus areas include equality, social justice, institutional reform and inclusive economic growth.

Volunteers will continue visiting communities across the Northern Division throughout August and September.
