Prosecution Files First Phase Of Disclosures In Alleged Murder Case

The matter is adjourned to May 25 for mention.

State prosecutor Unal Dev Lal filed and served the first phase of disclosures at the High Court in Lautoka yesterday for the case of Ajay Kumar.

Kumar a businessman of Tavua, allegedly murdered his de-factor partner, Saleshni Devi, on September 15, 2021, after the vehicle she was in went down a cliff in Teidamu, Lautoka.

Kumar appeared before Justice Riyaz Hamza and was represented by Iqbal Khan.

Mr Lal said he would need a month to file the second phase of disclosures.

These would include CCTV footage, recorded copies of Kumar’s interviews and some online photos and videos regarding the case.

Justice Hamza issued a stop departure on Kumar who was on bail.

The matter is adjourned to May 25 for mention.
