Protection Of Our Children Vital: PM’s Easter Message

Children are precious gifts from God.

This was what Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka said as part of his Easter message to all Fijians.

The Prime Minister said it was our duty as parents, caregivers, and leaders to ensure that children are protected.

Mr Rabuka said data showed that the violence against children had increased. He also said the Government had in place mechanisms that included legislations, policies, and referral pathways to respond to cases of children in need.

He said currently there were 142 children under the State care because they had been victims of abuse and were at risk in their own families and at home.

“This Easter, it is my prayer that we will stand with our children,” the Prime Minister said.

“We are made righteous in Christ Jesus.”

The PM wished all Fijians a blessed Easter and prayed to God to bless all and Fiji.
