The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, (DPP) has decided that no charges will be laid against Member of Parliament, Parmod Chand.

Mr Chand was arrested by Police and interviewed under caution on December 8, 2017 on suspicion of having committed seditious offences contrary to the Crimes Act as a result of alleged comments he made at a shop in Delailabasa, Labasa, on August 14, 2017.

The DPP stated that “there is insufficient reliable evidence to support any criminal charges against Mr Chand and therefore the docket has been returned to Police.”
