Public Positive About Green City Project In Nadi

There has been positive response from some people and organisations to plans by an American businessman to build a Green City in Nadi.
Apart from showing interest in the Green City, some people have also supported the businessman’s plans on electricity generation through green energy.

Following the publication of the articles respectively on Monday and Tuesday, people have contacted this newspaper showing their interest to be part of the projects.
A local businessman emailed this newspaper to say he was willing to help in promoting the products for green energy while a company said it had building materials that were suitable for the “go green” projects, especially the Green City.
There have been others who contacted this newspaper to say they were in favour of the “go green” projects announced by the American businessman, as it was the only way to fight climate change.
Mr Beam has immediate plans to provide green energy electricity generation plants in the country.
He announced that the first pilot green micro-grid system would be installed on Vatulele Island to provide 24/7 electricity to the four villages and all facilities on the island for free while removing the diesel generators forever.
The revolutionary technology comes permanently built inside a 20-feet shipping container and can produce 2.1 megawatts of clean green electricity using only one litre of bio-fuel, which can be produced locally, for 24-36 hours of operation with zero emissions to the atmosphere and up to 25 megawatts from one 40-feet shipping container.
Mr Beam said it would be a historical moment for Fiji and a huge milestone achievement when the first 2.1 megawatt unit arrives in the country in about 90 days for the Vatulele Island project.
On the proposed Green City, he said it would be situated on 6000 acres of land which is located about 15 minutes drive away from the Nadi International Airport.
He is working with some local partners to set-up the Green City and help Fiji “go green” to help fight climate change, which is an issue affecting many Pacific Island countries in particular.
Mr Beam said the Green City would be totally powered by renewable technology and every aspect would be built by sustainable building materials.
He said he met with the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in Suva last week and discussed his plans on electricity generation through green energy.
