Ra Provincial Council Chairman: Stop Using Government Help To Cultivate Marijuana

Do not use Government assistance for unlawful cultivation of marijuana.
The Ra Provincial Council Chairman Manoa Seru made this remark at the Ra Provincial Council Meeting in Nanukuloa, Ra yesterday.
He did not hold back, he blasted the delegates, mainly chiefs of various tikina’s to get their acts together.

Mr Seru was referring to the farm road that was requested by the villagers and it was used for the wrong purpose including the cultivation of marijuana.
The province of Ra has 20 tikina that make up 93 villages. It is a resource rich province.
“We have to wake up, as there has been a request to fix our farm roads but we are not utilizing it in a useful manner,” he said.
“When we ask the Government for something, it is done. At the end it comes up with the reports of the number of farm roads being upgraded but there is no return at the end.
“The farm road needs to be used wisely. I pray that we work hard together.
“People should plant dalo and cassava but some opt to plant marijuana and that is very deceiving. That is dirty money; earn clean money the right way.”
He told the chiefs to get their acts together and move the province in the right direction.
Mr Seru commended the province for the improvement in health and medical services, but more wellness programmes need to be advocated.
