Rabuka Admits to Leading 1987 Coup
As the Coalition Government invest more energy to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) establishment, Mr Rabuka has taken the lead role in admitting to his role.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has admitted yet again that he executed the 1987 military coup.
The country's first military coup introduced widespread racial challenges and political stability. Prime Minister Mr Rabuka was the front man for this coup where he had declared himself as Prime Minister and suspended the 1970 Constitution.
The coup resulted in Fiji's suspension from the Commonwealth.

Fiji's economy only slowly recovered in the years that followed, and the country's pool of skilled Indo-Fijian workers was now depleted by long-term emigration.
As the Coalition Government invest more energy to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) establishment, Mr Rabuka has taken the lead role in admitting to his role.
"I did it," Mr Rabuka said.
"I have done it many times."
TRC's main objective is to help those who have been violated during past coups to find healing and closure through full and genuine reconciliation with perpetrators.
The TRC steering committee is chaired by the Assistant Minister for Women, Sashi Kiran.
Ms Kiran reports directly to the Prime Minister. Members of the Committee include; Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Sakiusa Tubuna, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua, Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ratu Isikeli Tuiwailevu and Assistant Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Jovesa Vocea.
