Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka hopes a report on the 2022 General Election 'glitch' will be delivered following the appointment of Justice Ratu Usaia Ratuvili as the new Electoral Commission (EC) chair.
Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga earlier confirmed that an investigation into the issue could only proceed once a substantive appointment was made.
On January 12, Supervisor of Elections Ana Mataiciwa said her office had not received clear instructions from the line minister regarding the matter.

The appointment of the EC chairperson falls under the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC).
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Mr Rabuka said those responsible must now "get to work" to determine what allegedly went wrong.
"Hopefully, they can do that now," the PM said.
"They will be very busy, both the commission and the Supervisor of Elections office."
Meanwhile, the appointment also paves the way for deregistered FijiFirst MP, Alvick Maharaj, to seek an update on the party's deregistration.
Mr Maharaj had appealed the decision made by the Registrar of Political Parties, Ms Mataiciwa, which led to the deregistration of FijiFirst on July 1.
