The People’s Alliance Party leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, has refused to answer whether he met Australian advertising entrepreneur John Singleton on Laucala Island.
He was also silent on the nature of the meeting.
When posed with the question, he walked away and asked why it was not put forward during the media question and answer session during the party special assembly held at Vunimono Hall in Nausori yesterday.

National Federation Party (NFP) leader Biman Prasad and president Pio Tikoduadua were invited as guests at the special assembly.
“Coalition, association and co-operation talks have only been with NFP lately, but it started with Unity Party leader Savenaca Narube, but we are still open,” Mr Rabuka said.
“For several months, my party has been engaged in discussions with the NFP about working together.
“But before those talks, I had worked with the NFP all through my life as a politician and party leader.
“On The People’s Alliance side we are satisfied we are compatible, and that we hold similar values and dreams.
“The NFP leadership knows I am making this short first statement today. My friends believe me when I say the arrangement with the NFP will transform the political landscape of our country.
“It will be good for my party and the NFP as an example of unity and inclusivity in action.”
Mr Rabuka said the party had received 155 applications from those seeking to contest under his party’s banner in the 2022 General Election.
He added their manifesto would be launched on April 26.
