Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, admitted yesterday that his staff contacted the Commissioners from the Constitutional Offices Commission and the Public Service Commission (PSC) and told them to resign.
It is understood that some members of the PSC have handed in their resignation.
Mr Rabuka said they had the right to do it to move with a cooperative civil service. He was commenting on Opposition leader Voreqe Bainimarama’s statement that the two organisations were independent and that a personnel from the PM’s Office had called the commissioners to resign.
