Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has yet again taken the fall for the poor advise he recently received from his so-called advisors before the Emoluments Committee report was gazetted last Thursday.
Without revealing names, Mr Rabuka following his participation in the Master’s Discus (M75+) event for the Oceania Athletics Championships said everyone in government are his advisors.
“I will take the blame,” Mr Rabuka said.

“Their duty was to advise, and my duty as the Prime Minister was to see the advice.”
Last Thursday, after the Emoluments Committee report was gazetted, Mr Rabuka said the recommendation would require substantive amendment to the Parliamentary Remunerations Act 2014.
He said this would require a Bill to be drafted by the Solicitor-General’s Office.
The Bill will then be subject to public consultations where the people of Fiji can have their say and air their views. It will then be considered by Cabinet before it is tabled in Parliament, Mr Rabuka said.
This is not the first time the Prime Minister has taken the fall for the failure of his advisors.
Last year in October after the decision for a Cabinet reshuffle was announced, Mr Rabuka pointed to the ill advise of his advisors for the uproar that followed – especially from the Fiji Law Society for the proposed appointment of Filimoni Vosarogo as Attorney- General.
He was in fact ineligible for the post because he had pleaded guilty to professional misconduct in his past.
