Adi Cakobau School (ACS) continued its week-long 75th anniversary celebrations with a tour of the Queen Elizabeth Barracks yesterday.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro said: “I am most honoured as the Minister for Education to congratulate Adi Cakobau School for reaching this milestone in its rich history of 75 years, breeding and being host to young girls and ladies from all walks of life in Fiji. 

“ACS is a school that continues to attract young girls and parents to its doors with the understanding that once they reach ACS, they become champions in whatever space in life they choose to pursue and be a part of.

“As you celebrate your rich history amongst your former school mates, friends old and new, and with our Fijian people this week, I trust you will do so in kindness, in love and with goodwill towards each other and all others who look up to you all to be a beacon of hope and inspiration as career women, as leaders, as people who understand that life is what we make of it.”

The week-long programme began with a garden party at Boron House on September 30 followed by: 

  •  October 1: A church service at ACS lower hall;
  •  October 2: An excursion to the Naitasiri Women’s Club followed by a meet and greet cocktail in Suva;
  •  Tuesday: House competition followed by a compound dress night at the Suva Bowling Club;
  •  Yesterday: An excursion at the RFMF Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua followed by an island night trivia quiz at Defence Club;
  •  Today: Annual General Meeting, Wesley Church, Butt Street followed by Tara Koro and Talanoa at Fijian Teachers Assocaition (FTA) Hall;
  •  Tomorrow: Waterlily Carnival procession begins from the Flea Market to Albert Park;
  •  Saturday: Grand ball at the Vodafone Arena;
  •  Sunday: Thanksgiving service at Centenary Church.
