The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, on Saturday called on the ancillary staff of Nasinu Secondary School (NSS) to take ownership of their roles because it's important in character and nation building.

He reminded the staff members that their work contributed to a safe and supportive learning environment in Nasinu, which one of the biggest secondary schools in Fiji.

Held under the theme 'Together, Scaling New Heights,' the induction brought together the school's support staff for a dedicated session focused on professional growth, workplace ethics, and their role within the school community.

The programme included guidance on civil service conduct, responsibilities, budgeting, and service excellence, all aimed at strengthening the backbone of school operations.

Mr Radrodro stressed the value of teamwork and the deep impact that every member of a school, from the classroom to the front office can have on a child's success.

"Take ownership of your roles. It contributes to a safe and supportive learning environment. It aligns with the Ministry of Education's broader mission, to build a system where every child has the opportunity to thrive not just academically, but in a space where they feel supported and cared for."

He reminded the staff members that their dedication is essential to achieving Fiji's education goals.
