Raicama Gets Top Award

A feeling of disbelief over­whelmed Petero Raicama as he marched to receive the Baton of Honour award during the Rewa Secondary School passing out parade on Friday.

The 18-year-old lad of Namosi Village was also the Parade Com­mander, a rank that he felt honored to hold.

“I am thankful to the military commanding officers for believing in me to take up this role,” he said.

“We had about a month of cadet training, and I struggled a bit with the commands, however, I kept pushing myself to the limit and for that I am thankful to the soldiers who trained us during that short period of time.”

It has been seven years since the school last had its first cadet pass­ing out parade.
