Rakiraki Farmer Withdraws Bail Application

A farmer of Nalawa, Ra accused of murder withdrew his bail application at the High Court in Lautoka on Tuesday.
This is in the case of Samisoni Vurumatana, 36, who allegedly murdered a 28-year-old man whose body was discovered on the afternoon of January 31, 2022, at the Dreketi Settlement in Nalawa, Ra.
The matter was heard before Judge Justice Sunil Sharma and Vurumatana was represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Paula Gade while the state was represented by Simione Seruvatu.

The court heard that the matter was for Vurumatana’s bail hearing.
Mr Gade told the court that Vurumatana would be withdrawing his bail application as he did not have any bail sureties and the application was dismissed accordingly.
The substantive matter will be called on May 12 at the High Court in Lautoka before Judge, Justice Sunil Sharma.
