Ram Fulfills Bakery Dream For Future, Family Investment

Thirty-six-year-old Roneel Ritesh Ram is living his dream in the bakery business.
He ventured into this field two years ago and has never looked back, aiming to secure a successful future for his children.
He conceived this idea after losing his mother at the tender age of five.

Originally from Navovo, Nadroga, he operates La Panaderia & Cafe, situated in the Field 40 Subdivision in Lautoka.
Mr Ram learned the trade as an apprentice at Lums Hot Bread in Sigatoka, starting in 2008.
He has since worked at various bakeries, including Deans Tabraki in Nausori, Bread Box in Navua, Bake Rite (8 miles), Wananavu Bakery at Sonaisali Junction, and New World IGA Lautoka.
“I had this dream for a long time: to have my own business rather than work for someone else,” Mr Ram said.
“I also set up the business as a birthday gift for my daughter because I want my children to avoid the hardships I faced growing up until I found my passion.”
He said his investment of $25,000 came from savings from his previous work.
“I don’t employ anyone yet since it is our family business. We work together to operate the business,” said Mr Ram.
Challenges
Mr Ram added that one of the challenges he faced was when the shop was robbed and some individuals caused trouble because they were new to the area. He is also an ardent supporter of local football wherever he goes.
He attended Naidovi Primary School before he joined Cuvu College. Mr Ram married Arishma Prasad in 2017 they have and they have two children.
Mr Ram said there was no replacement for hard work.
