Rape Accused, Pranil Prakash Bailed

An immigration officer, Pranil Prakash, who is charged with one count of rape, has been granted bail by the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday.

The court has granted him bail, but on strict conditions.

These include a $1500 surety bail bond and the accused has to surrender his passport and travel documents.
He will relocate to Waidova in Navua where he will reside with his brother and has to report weekly to the Navua Police Station.
While on bail he must not interfere with the complainant.
The case has been transferred to the High Court in Lautoka and adjourned to April 17.
