Linda Raratabu is ready to embrace the challenge after being appointed as the Deputy Head Girl of Adi Cakobau School on Friday.

Speaking candidly on stage, Ms Raratabu reflected on her journey as one marked with struggles to meet both academic and parental expectations.

Despite the challenges, she remained steadfast in her determination to excel since joining the all-girls institution as a Year 9 student in 2020.

As she looks back on her personal journey, she credits her confidence to her faith in God. She has a clear vision for the future and is determined to lead with grace and favour.

“I believe there are endless opportunities to pursue, but for now, my focus is on fostering spiritual growth. I know this is the key to achieving success in every area of study,” Ms Raratabu said.

To be deputy head girl comes great responsibility, both inside and outside the school grounds.

She knows that leadership requires respect for others and the ability to solve problems effectively.

For her, her faith is the cornerstone of her leadership. Balancing her schoolwork and leadership duties will undoubtedly be a challenge, but she is confident that her faith will provide the strength to navigate it.

“My goal is to encourage students to reconnect with their faith in God,” she said.

“With so many social challenges, I believe that a strong sense of self-worth, rooted in faith, will help us persevere.

“I’m honoured to serve the girls, and I’ll ensure they have a space to express themselves, even when things get tough.

“I also want to thank my parents for their mentorship and for teaching me the importance of serving others with dignity.”
