“I will continue to tread slowly and hope my feet will grow in those shoes. With God’s help, I will do justice to the job that I have been entrusted with by this assembly and lift the party at all times.”
Ratu Josefa revealed his surprise that no one wanted to contest the position.
“If I had known another person standing in, I would have withdrawn,” he said.
“Today, amongst us are a lot of many talented people, who have led various organisations; having them take up this role would be a great input in the running of affairs of our party.
“The party tries to improve in all facets.
“I respect the faith entrusted to me by the two divisions; as they had nominated my name.”
He added that one thing he would like to fully endorse is the sentiment expressed by the women wing head for the increase in women’s participation.
“We are told to see the first woman president or vice president in our party. Shortly we will have women taking on those crucial roles.”
