Raumakita Aims To Better Family Living Standard
She was separated from her husband a few years back and her goal now was to become an independent woman and provide a better living standard for her family.

Struggling to make ends meet, Loata Raumakita does not want her sister’s children to go through the same.
This is the driving force behind the 36-year-old woman who would return to Australia for the second time under the Australia-Pacific labour Scheme.
Ms Raumakita who hails from Bua and currently resides in Cunningham is the sole bread-winner in her family.

She has two sisters who are both single mothers.
One of them has five children and her younger sister has one child.
“I want to work there so that I can save money for my sisters children’s’ education,” Ms Raumakita said.
“I want them to get better jobs and support themselves.
“They live in the village where the main source of income is sea food and there is not much space for farming.”
Ms Raumakita had a catering business but because of COVID-19, the business was affected.
Most of her saving had also gone to her family in the village after the recent cyclones.
Ms Raumakita thanked the Fijian and the Australian Government for the opportunity.
She wishes to venture into business upon returning from Australia.
“I’m thinking of setting up my own business, a business that would not stress me a lot,” she said.
“Something that does not make me struggle as much as I am struggling now.”
Ms Raumakita will depart for Australia today to work in the meat industry for three years.
