The Director General of the Fiji Red Cross Society Ilisapeci Rokotunidau has resigned with immediate effect.

Ms Rokotunidau has decided to focus on her health after feeling unwell for the past few months.

Society National President Sala Toganivalu said the former director leaves an exceptionally talented team in a place and position for continued growth.

“Under Ms Rokotunidau’s leadership, the Fiji Red Cross was able to demonstrate the value of the Society’s humanitarian role, beyond cyclone response and relief work, to encompassing support of the Ministry of Health during COVID-19, reaffirming our auxiliary support role to Government,” she shared.

Ms Rokotunidau joined the organisation in November 2019 where she led her team in unprecedented times of tropical cyclones, epidemics and a global pandemic.
