Residents Use Creek for Drinking, Bathing and Doing their Laundry

“It’s really frustrating to us and our geographical location far from the city we need daily water supplies.”

Residents of Savura in Wailoku have no choice but to use a creek nearby to sustain them as the water crisis continue in the Lami-Suva vicinity.

Resident, Isikeli Tamanisau, who was spotted with others at the creek in Wailoku, said the disruptions were affecting their daily routine drastically.

Mr Tamanisau said the Water Authority of Fiji, released a statement on Tuesday stating that they would assists them water tanks.

“We are eagerly waiting for them to come but they haven’t showed up or bothered to come,” Mr Tamanisau said.

Another resident Sunia Draunivesi said: “We have elderly people living with us and children.

“They should be up on their toes while securing water sources for us.

“We can’t keep calling them, and they don’t show up.”
