Retired Fijian rugby union player, Seremaia Bai said he would be doing a little fundraising to help Aseri Bese and his family.

Seventeen-year-old Aseri Bese has been left paralysed following a horrific swimming accident in New Zealand last month.

He was swimming with friends at Auckland’s Mission Bay after a rugby game, where they were jumping from a bridge into the sea when the incident happened.

His son Seremaia Bai Junior was in the group that went swimming with Aseri who is now fighting for his life in Middlemore Hospital.

Aseri dived into the water, hit his head on the seabed and was unable to swim back to shore, his dad told Stuff.
