Reverend Iliesa Naivalu, Faithful Servant Of God, Says Methodist Church of Fiji President

The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma is mourning the death of its General Secretary Reverend Iliesa Naivalu.

Reverend Naivalu passed away on Friday, December 17 after an illness he has been battling with for more than a month.

President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Ili Vunisuwai while announcing the death of Reverend Naivalu said the church has lost a faithful servant, one that stood the test of time because of his faith and reverence for the Lord.

“The church has lost a true and faithful servant.

“We are really shocked and hurt by his sudden demise, but we thank God for a life well lived,” Rev Vunisuwai said.

While speaking on the Church’s ‘Raici Jisu Matua’ programme on Sunday night, Rev Vunisuwai said the church mourned the passing of its committed servant.

Rev Vunisuwai said the funeral gathering would begin at the Church residence in Pender Street on December 27.

Funeral Details

His body will be taken to his village in Yalobi, Yasawa on Wednesday, December 29 before it will be laid to rest at his home in Yalobi on Thursday, December 30.

Rev Naivalu is survived by his wife Ani Naivalu and four children.
