Review Of FICAC To Take Longer: A-G

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga, says the review of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption’s (FICAC) role will take longer than expected.

The People’s Alliance party, in its first 100-day plan had stated their plan to review the laws and provisions for appointments to ensure the independence of bodies such as the Electoral Commission and FICAC.

Also in its first 100-day plan was to phase out FICAC and incorporate its functions to the relevant existing agencies.
