The Fiji Police Force has reached out to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to assist in maintaining security and stability in the country.
This was after more information and reports were received by the Fiji Police Force and Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) of threats made against minority groups. They were reported to be living in fear following recent political developments.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said a meeting was held yesterday between Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, Minister for Defence, National Security and Policing Inia Seruiratu and RFMF Commander and Director General National Security Major General Jone Kalouniwai.
