RFMF Commander Writes to Australia Counterpart Regarding Colonel Naliva

Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander, Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai has written to the Australian Chief of Defence about the public uproar on the appointment of Colonel Penioni Naliva as Deputy Commander of the Australian Army’s 7th Brigade.

In his letter to General Angus Campbell, the Ro Jone said the allegations were not reported.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sitiveni Rabuka, Permanant Secretary Dr Lesikimacuata Korovavala and the Australia High Commissioner Ewen McDonald met yesterday.

The ball was now in Australia’s court to decide whether Colonel Naliva completes the two-year stint in Brisbane or return home.
