BDSW Naleba remembers seeing an ex-serviceman and the number of medals he had and has come to appreciate the sacrifice they make as some paid the price for the peace we now enjoy with their very own life.
βSometimes when I stand beside an ex-serviceman, I try to silently observe him from the top downwards. I always see the number of medals they have and always wonder, what it would be like when I reach that age. But the sight of an ex-serviceman is always pleasant and we always say to ourselves, the peace we enjoy today, you paid the price for it and some with their very own life.β
A representative from the RSEA, retired Warrant Officer Class 2 Vula Tabuadua said that the fund donated will help in the preparation for the 100 years of the Poppy Appeal commemoration for veterans that have served in the armed forces. The fund will also assist in the welfare and expenses of running the association which has 22 branches around Fiji.
βThe donation received today will actually boost our preparation for the November 11 event and help the 22 branches around the country,β retired WO2 Tabuadua said.
