RFMF reconciliation phase 2 next year

The Republic of Fiji Military (RFMF) reconciliation and restoration programme Phase 2 will reconvene early next year. Phase 2 will be a community and outreach focused reconciliation.
It is anticipated that RFMF will conduct reconciliation awareness within communities affected during coups.
RFMF Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai said such a phase is pivotal as the institution navigates to restore ‘trust’.

“The RFMF phase 2 will reconvene next year where we will now visit communities and reconcile with them,” Major-General Kalouniwai said.
“Phase 2 will be very important for RFMF since we now be visiting communities, talking, hearing their survival stories and generally conducting institutional reconciliation.
“This is also important to us as move to earn the trust of Fijians.”
According to Major-General Kalouniwai phase 2 will be an opportune time where the institution can ‘heal’ and seek genuine apology from Fijians.
