The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Shooting Team left the country yesterday for the Australian Army Skill at Arms Meet that will be held in Melbourne, Australia, from March 26 to April 4.

Last week the team ended training in the dense jungle of Nabukavesi and the shooting range in Vatuwaqa.

Team Contingent Commander Major Henry Macomber and Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Eliki Bera, the RFMF Master Coach have been upskilling the team with guidelines of shooting from long range and Close Quarter Battle (CQB).

This team comprising 10 personnel has been training for the past two months.

The only woman in the group is Sapper Seruwaia Loga.

She said that the biggest challenge faced during the two months of training was the variation of working area.

Being an electrician in the RFMF Engineers and now becoming a professional in mastering weapons is a totally challenging yet exciting experience for her.

The team concluded their preparation with a 25-metre range falling plate shoot at the Nabuni range on March 19, 2019.
