The People's Alliance (PA) party has appointed Ro Filipe Tuisawau as one of its new deputy leaders, replacing Lynda Tabuya, who was removed from the role in March.

Ms Tabuya's removal was linked to a complaint regarding her alleged involvement in an extramarital affair and a drug scandal during a Government trip to the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, last year. Yesterday, the party's acting secretary, Sila Balawa, confirmed that the party's executive committee approved Ro Filipe's appointment as deputy leader during its meeting on Wednesday, 25th September.

Ro Filipe serves as Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services and is the Leader of Government Business in Parliament.

He was previously the Opposition Whip from 2018 to 2022 under the previous administration.
