Road trip turns fatal for businessman
Police reported that the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and hit an electric post. It was alleged that the driver fell asleep while driving.

A 45-year-old businessman from Lautoka lost his life while on a road trip with friends on Christmas Eve.
According to Police, Yan Jintao (deceased) and three other passengers were involved in an accident along the Queens Road in Nalovo, Nadi, on Sunday.
Police reported that the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and hit an electric post. It was alleged that the driver fell asleep while driving.

Police spokesperson Wame Bautolu confirmed that only one of the three passengers had died.
According to one of the staff members of a Lautoka company, the victim was the director of their company.
According to the staff, the victim was travelling to Suva with his Chinese friends to spend Christmas when they were involved in the fatal accident.
Police investigations continue.
The road death toll so far stands at 76, compared to 44 for the same period last year.
