Nabua Secondary School Matua Programme dux Ruth Ledua, 33, believes education has no barriers.

Ms Ledua was also the highest achiever for the Matua Year 12 Programme in 2021, bagging 303. This year her mark was 314.

“When they told me that my mark was 314, I was content but know there is a lot of room for improvement,” Ms Ledua said.

“Finally, there will be no more walking from school at times since my budget was tight, finally I have achieved a dream that I can only dream of.”

Ms Ledua has five children, a family who rallied support throughout her journey.

She never thought of continuing school anymore since 2006, but through her husband, Ms Ledua learned about Matua, hence her interest to join.
