A Samabula resident is calling on the community to be aware of a group of young men surveilling homes in the area.
This is after he claimed that his home was broken into more than a week ago.
Jagdish Chand, 62, of Kabara Street, said: “I would not have believed it before but after someone entered my home in broad daylight and made off with things from the house, I am more than sure that it is happening.

“They are looking at homes and identifying which ones they can be break into,” he said.
Mr Chand’s claimed that his home was burgled on Friday November 13,2020. He was outside at the construction site of his new flat while his grandson was studying in a room towards the back of the house when the alleged incident happened.
A CCTV footage at Mr Chand’s home showed that the intruder was inside his home for three minutes.
“As soon as I stepped out of the front door, this guy was seen going into the house. He went into the rooms as if he knew where my grandson was and did not disturb him,” Mr Chand said.
Mr Chand’s wallet, a phone belonging to his younger grandson and an e-transport card were taken.
Neighbours said they saw two other men waiting not far from Mr Chand’s place. The wallet was returned to Mr Chand by a bus driver who drives the Samabula route.
“I can only assume that the thief caught the bus after taking things from my house,” he said.
Mr Chand said the surveillance camera footage had been given to the Police.
He said people must realise that there were some individuals whose agenda was only to take what others have worked hard for.
He urged people to report suspicious behaviors immediately to the Police.
