A victim of Tropical Cyclone Yasa, who longed to own a 50-inch television has found relief after winning a $2800 prize from Vodafone Fiji Limited on Thursday.

Kitty Saukilagi of Line Point, Labasa said for two years she had been trying to save money, but couldn’t since she was unemployed.

And the increasing cost of food prices made things difficult.

The 47-year-old with an amputated foot, won a TV by subscribing to Vodafone’s Giga $15 plan and entered into the Everyday Someone Wins $2800 Cash draw daily.

The prize was handed to her by Vodafone Fiji Limited Labasa manager Arunesh Prasad for the company’s birthday promotion.

“During TC Yasa my house was badly damaged and when the electricians came to do the wiring, they broke my TV and didn’t replace it,” she claimed.

“Since I have been suffering from diabetes from 2018; I didn’t want to make any issue so I just waited.”

She said this was the best gift ever she received.

“I used to subscribe daily for free call to talk to my mother who has been supporting me and I didn’t know I would win,” she said.

“Thank you so much Vodafone Fiji Limited for this timely gift.”
