Newly inducted head boy Verani Nakauyaca and head girl Wilita Bosenakadavu of Davuilevu Methodist High School in Nausori are ready to lead by example.
Verani is from Naivucini in Naitasiri.
“I was shocked when I was informed on Monday that I was the head boy. I am happy that the teachers believe in me and I will not let them down,” the 17-year-old said.

“It will not be an easy year, but I am willing to do my best. I am ready for all the challenges ahead of me. I will work with the head girl and the deputies to ensure that the students are disciplined.”
Wilita said she would perform her new role diligently.
She is from Ekubu Village on Vatulele and is the eldest of five siblings.
“I never thought that one day I would be the head girl, but I am happy. It feels good to be the first head girl of the school,” she said.
“I believe I have what it takes to lead the students of the school. It will not be easy, but I am willing to try.”
The school was established in 2015 and has a total of 92 students from Year Nine to Year 12.
Yesterday, 38 students were part of the prefect induction who pledged to lead the students this year.
