Search Effort For A 8-Year-Old Boy Is Underway After Playing In A Flooded Drain

Valelevu Police is currently conducting a search for a 8-year-old boy who was swept away while playing in a flooded drain this afternoon.

After 4 o'clock, the alleged event allegedly happened along Niubalavu Road in Tacirua's New Subdivision.

The 8-year-old kid was washed away while playing in a flooded drain, the search is still on.

Livai Dru, Chief Operations Officer and Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, is advising parents and guardians to keep an eye on their kids and prevent them from playing in flooded areas, creeks, rivers, and drains, as well as from swimming in them.

He continues, "If parents or guardians have disregarded their responsibility to ensure the safety of their children, police will not hesitate to file charges against them."
