Seven Hundred Six Properties Lost To Fire In The Past Five Years

The Minister for Housing and Local Government Maciu Katamotu said 706 properties were lost to fire in the past five years (2018-2022).

The Minister for Housing and Local Government Maciu Katamotu said 706 properties were lost to fire in the past five years (2018-2022).

Of which 65 were commercial and industrial properties while 638 were residential homes.

Mr Katamotu said an average of 128 homes were lost to fires annually and an average of 11 homes per month in the past five years.
