Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) will carry out urgent repairs on a collapsed sewer trunk in Nabua tomorrow at 5am.

The collapsed section is situated at the Nabua Bus stop along Ratu Mara Road.

“We are working closely with the Fiji Roads Authority to rectify the issue as soon as possible,” said the authority’s chief executive officer, Barry Omundson.

“In the interim, we urge motorists to be mindful of this section of the road along Ratu Mara Road in Nabua (towards Suva City) as one of the two lanes will be temporarily closed to allow us to carry out the urgent repairs.”

WAF is working closely with stakeholders, especially the FRA, and will carry out the necessary repairs and hand over the site to the FRA contractors.

Works to backfill the excavation will start as soon as possible, before the beginning of the academic term, if weather permits.

The authority also requests that the travelling public be mindful of the workers who will be working in the area.
