Single Parent Prepares Children To Go Back To School
It is important to prioritise our children’s education so that they know that we are supporting them to succeed

Single parent, Deo Chand, took two weeks leave from work to gather his children’s’ needs for when they go back to school.
The 47-year-old lives with his 70-year-old mother who helps him take care of his two children.
The family lives at Nalovo, Nadi. The two children are Junior Shadu Lal, who is a Year 12 student of Korovuto College while his sister, Astika Devi is a Year 4 student at Korovuto Primary.

“I have taken my two weeks leave just to prepare for my children’s back to school stuff. It is important for us parents to prepare for our children’s education.
“My mother helps me look after my children. Today we all came together to buy their school stationery.
He said he had spent nearly $500.
He was grateful to the company that he works for, for providing him with a job that enables him to support his family and his children’s education.
“It is important to prioritise our children’s education so that they know that we are supporting them to succeed,” he said.
