Sleepless Night Worth It for Adi Varanisese Rokoburogo

Making all the necessary sacrifices allowed Adi Varanisese Rokoburogo to accept her Bachelor of Agriculture Degree proudly during the University of the South Pacific (USP) graduation ceremony yesterday.
Recalling countless memories and sleepless nights dedicated to completing assignments, she reminisced on her journey at USP.
Ms Rokoburogo’s academic achievement also speaks of the relentless determination of a single parent working tirelessly to turn her child’s aspirations into reality.

Ms Rokoburogo, 23, acknowledged the immense struggles and sacrifices her mother made to support her and three siblings.
“I vividly remembered my mother waking up early every morning to harvest produce on the farm, ensuring there was food on the table for my siblings and myself,” she said.
“To overcome financial burdens, my mother started a side business from home.
“Her skills in crafting garlands became a source of financial support, enabling myself to pursue my education.”
Her mother, Asenaca Silome, beamed with pride as she saw her daughter receiving her degree.
“Words cannot express how thankful I am for Varanisese in graduating and keeping her head held high,” Ms Silome said.
“It sure was a bit challenging for me, however, a mother will do anything to see her children succeed in life.”
Ms Silome’s creative talents in crafting garlands, designing wedding attires, and creating birthday backdrops played a key role in supporting her children’s education.
Her daughter’s accomplishment serves as a source of inspiration not only to the family, but to her younger sister in high school.
Ms Silome offered heartfelt guidance to fellow single parents enduring similar trials.
“Prioritise your children’s education and never lose hope,” she said.
