Of the 30 applications received for the SODELPA general secretary position, only two were shortlisted, says party leader Viliame Gavoka.
The successful candidate will be announced at the party’s management board meeting at Southern Cross Hotel today.
Mr Gavoka said the two were interviewed by a three member panel for the position.

“We received the applications and we did not interview everyone that had applied because not all applicants had the criteria,” Mr Gavoka said.
“The interview panel included me, the president and a former Minister of the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) Government,” he said.
“The agenda of the meeting tomorrow (today) is primarily the confirmation of the general secretary which has to be approved by the management board.
“We will make a recommendation to the management board and they would have to agree by vote for the name of the person we have recommended to be our new general secretary.
“The management board will decide that.”
Mr Gavoka said the five management board members, who were banned from party meetings would remain banned.
“The investigations are still continuing,” he said.
The meeting will take place at the Southern Cross Hotel in Suva at 9am today.
